About Beta Sigma Chi
BETA SIGMA CHI FRATERNITY AND SORORITY is a voluntary fraternal association of
individuals drawn together by shared ideals, and a common bond of brotherhood
built through ritual and friendship. Since 1999, CHILLIANS, has promoted and
cultivated the ideals of brotherhood, service, chivalry, fellowship, camaraderie,
wisdom, philanthropy, integrity, loyalty, tradition, and humor.
BETA SIGMA CHI’s mission is to expand and enhance the member's
experience, providing students and alumni an extended family,
professional network, and social outlet. CHILLIANS teaches students to set aside
individual differences and work collectively for mutual benefit and the
greater good. Our Original Charter from Iloilo Maritime Academy or now known as
John B. Lacson FMU Arevalo founded on July 21, 1999 remains the
foundation on which the fraternity and sorority is built.
BETA SIGMA CHI is constituted for the purpose of;
(A) Uniting ourselves into a fraternity and sorority for social purposes.
(B) Promoting the interests of each member of this fraternity and sorority both in college and out.
(C) To guide ourselves into the ways of correct conduct and diligent
application to duties where-ever they may be, and to council and advise
those students who come after us in proper conduct and application to duty,
and to assist each other to advancement; and to do all other acts that are
common to a fraternal society, which are not in conflict with the law.
BETA SIGMA CHI is a social and service organization unique to the members, with a
proud tradition of campus and community involvement. For generations
CHILLIANS has built an expansive philanthropic program, strong community
presence, and an active alumni network. CHILLIANS Alumni are positive role
models and a great resource for current CHILLIANS students. BETA SIGMA
CHI also provides an invaluable professional network to graduating brothers.
